Alex Roach has presented numerous lectures and workshops on pest management for museums and galleries, as well as training staff in practical measures that can be undertaken to control pests.About Alex Roach
Alex Roach worked in the pest control industry before commencing work with the Materials Conservation Division of The Australian Museum in 1990. As the Museum’s Pest Control Officer, Alex carried out pest inspections of collections, non-toxic fumigation of artefacts and assisted with research into low and non-toxic methods of controlling insect pests.
In 1996 Alex formed Heritage Pest Management and since has undertaken work for museums and galleries throughout Australia including The National Trust, The Historic Houses Trust of NSW, The Art Gallery of NSW, The Australian Museum, The Powerhouse Museum, The Western Australian Museum, The Museum and Art Gallery of Tasmania and The Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory among others.
Alex has written and co-written several articles on pest management for museums, and has presented a number of lectures and workshops on non-toxic measures for controlling pests.
